HOUSE REMOVALS NORWICH

Norwich is “a Fine City” as you are reminded as you enter the area from any angle and Move My Stuff cannot argue with this. It has a Premier League club led by Delia Smith, a superb retail and restaurant experience and that association with Alan Partridge and The Sale of The Century, with Nicholas Parsons.

Unusually too for East Anglia, it is relatively accessible. You can get to central London in two hours by train and Cambridge is a sprint down the A11 by car.

Norwich property prices

Compared with its London and north Norfolk neighbours, Norwich is relatively affordable. Prices are much lower in Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth but the average sold property price is £220,000 in Norwich city centre.

Like anywhere though, there are postcode variations and we see that when we move people from, or into, Norwich.

Norwich New Builds

Riverside, King Street and Prince of Wales Road are thronged with new builds. We are finding that many professional people or empty nesters are downsizing to apartments there, overlooking the Wensum and Carrow Road. It’s a perfect job for us, as access is restricted, but Move My Stuff’s Luton removal vans takes it in their stride.

Another popular area is Sentinel House, on St Stephens Street, a 50s commercial building converted into apartments with an on site gym. We are asked to move young professionals and retirees into there quite often.

The Golden Triangle

An oft requested destination for our Lowestoft removal services is the Golden Triangle. This area is characterised by professionals and students in a large triangular wedge close to the city centre. Terraced streets present no issue for us. If you’re looking to move to or from Norwich’s Golden Triangle, we can help.

Norwich suburbia

We won’t cover every Norwich postcode for the sake of brevity but there are some key areas we get asked about. To the east is Thorpe St Andrew, a desirable area marked by the river Yare and excellent primary and high schools. To the south of the city, Newmarket Road, with its high value property, leads to the desirable suburbs of Eaton and Cringleford. The airport to the north has great suburbs like Hellesdon and to the west, new builds are springing up in Costessey. We cover all these areas and more.

The University of East Anglia and Norwich University of the Arts

As well as mustard, Norwich is seen as a great place to study. The UEA main campus sits to the south west of the city, but many students live in Bowthorpe, the Golden Triangle or the city centre. Pablo Fanque House, a new student skyscraper, is boutique living for students and again traditional removal firms would find access problematic as they approach the properties, opposite John Lewis.

The NUA has buildings dotted around the city with many clustered on the river Wensum. Again vehicular access is tight, though not for Move My Stuff.

If you study in Norwich, the UNESCO City of Literature, you’re in good company - John Boyne (The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas), Ian McEwan (Atonement) and Kazuo Ishiguro, the Japanese author, all learned their Creative Writing in Norwich.

Alas Move My Stuff didn’t move any of these - but who’s to say when we move you in Norwich, you won’t find fame in this Fine City?
