BECCLES REMOVALS COMPANY

Beccles - one of the many jewels in the crown of the county of Suffolk.

It is historically charming, teeming with great schools like Sir John Leman High and home to spectacular riverside walks, along the Waveney boating and even a lido. There is an impressive 16th century bell tower in the centre, overlooking the 18th century octagonal town hall and the preserved market place. The bell tower, when open, affords amazing views of the town and countryside spanning the Broads. It is Grade 1 listed and notable too for hosting the wedding of Catherine Suckling and Edmund Nelson, who would parent local maritime hero, Horatio Nelson (link to new GY page).

The 11-18 school is named after a famous tradesman, John Leman, who became mayor of London before his death in 1632.
Apart from history, Beccles is a boater's paradise.  You can cruise the serene waters on a hired vessel from Hippersons Boatyard and just relax.
The town centre itself is brimming with character, yet compact with independent shops, boutiques, pubs, cafés and restaurants. Prezzo is housed in a former Art Deco cinema and it is stunning externally and internally.
There's a museum, supermarkets and charming suburbs like Gillingham and Worlingham. It is growing but with a population of just 14,000, it never feels crowded.
Bungay, another splendid town, is just down the A143.

Do we recommend Beccles as a place to live and move to?

Absolutely. Move My Stuff love the town of Beccles and would be delighted to help you with removals from our base in Lowestoft.

Property prices in Beccles are relatively affordable, when compared with places like Aldeburgh, Southwold and Lavenham. It's much more expensive than Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth, but you get more for your money than in say Norwich. The average sale price, according to Rightmove, is just over £240,000.

Talking of Norwich, Beccles is an easy drive away. It's 19 miles by car and about half an hour away. It's 16 miles as the crow flies and, believe it or not, there is a heliport in nearby Ellough! Unusually for many parts of East Anglia there is a railway station on Station Road (imaginative we know) with direct connections to Ipswich and Lowestoft, where you can travel on to London and Cambridge. Services run hourly during the week.

Once we've unloaded your boxes in Beccles, though, we're pretty sure you wouldn't want to leave!
